Does anyone know the difference in ECU's? Why there is the square, triangle, and circle? I know the symbols match up to the injectors but does that mean they all have different mapping or something? On a 08 800 to be specific.

From what I understand, yes, different mappings. There are slight differences in the injectors when they are manufactured and based on their output, they are divided up into one of three groups. So each group of injectors actually has a slight range of output but there is only one fuel map per group. This is why there is possibly some tunning that can be done even on stock sleds if you are a diehard tunner.

For example... Based on your injectors output, it is a triangle, but we'll say your injectors' output compared to the other triangle injectors is 'more'. So your sled may be running a little rich right from factory because the generic factory map has to cover all the triangle injectors.

Don't quote me on this but it is what I have come to understand. Please, someone correct me if I'm wrong.

RollnThudr is right on the money. The ECU's are matched to injector output. You may be able to swap them if you are running a BD box and have the capability to tune. Another fun fact which has been covered: The fuel pressure is all over the board from sled to sled. I've seen them as high as 48 psi, and as low as 38 psi on stock sleds. Food for thought when you decide to to "bolt on" mods - a fuel controller will help you get the most out of it.
