Eagle River Casino, Whitecourt

So the Casino has Grady (a band fronted by Gordie Johnson, formerly of Big Sugar) booked to play last night. A bunch are there to see them, buddy talked to one guy that came all the way from Chetwynd to see them. The band plays 2 songs and the management hands Johnson a note telling them to shut it down because they are too loud and raunchy. Crowd isn't happy and the guy that makes the decision doesn't even have the ba11s to come out and explain. No show, that's it...... They did have staff come out and hand out $10.00 coupons so people would stay and spend money.
Seems kind of stupid they send home a bunch of people that don't normaly go to the casino, that are there to have fun and drink just so a couple of folks can blow there welfare cheques in peace. Half of the people I was with have never spent a dime there and now they never will.....I know I won't be back any time soon...

that casino dosn't have a good name. they dont even support whitecourt. I know the people that run the place. It is actually managed by the Bellagio. They have gone through 3 managers there since it opened. Word is it may be closing in the near future.

Driven by there about a million times,never stopped.Now it's sounding like I'm not really missing anything.

I go to the casino in GP to watch my friends loss/gain, but never really spent any money of my own. I did break even once when we were on vacation. Back on topic, that is complete garbage they would close em down for being a bit loud. If its too loud, or not your type of music, turn it down, or relocate yourself. If people are having a good time and spending money, why bring it down. Is that casino pretty busy?

How can it be to loud...........There isnt another building for miles!
Thought about stopping as I too have drove by there a lot.

been by there a few times, never had the desire to even check it out. looks like a fly by night joint from the highway. money is hard enough to earn let alone throw it all away.
