I have not tried it but I understand that the location and depth of the probe is very specific in order for it to work properly. If that is true or not I can't say but good luck!

It is very important as well as the design of the can itself. I think you would end up destroying the can before you got it to work right

I suppose if you have a template(a can made for the etec) you could possibly add the sensor port to a ptec can successfully. I would personally just buy a can though. Much less chance of wasted riding time due to codes and malfunctions.

Thanks guys I think I will agree. I have always thought there has been alot of testing from the aftermarket companies to make sure they are compatable to the mfg standards, I was poking around the local dealership and saw the sensor locations varied from manfacturer to manufacturer. I also guess if a person altered a can and lost power, that would be counter productive. Can adding an aftermarket can void warranty?

Can shouldn't void warranty but a pipe will. I put a HPS on my 13' Freeride no engine light or anything and isnt obnoxiously loud.

My Son has a HPS on his 08 and it seems to be a great can. Some say BRP and some SLP work great also. Which one should a guy pick? Any other can advice?
