Dodge PS gearbox

mines pizzing out fluid like crazy.

seems to be coming from the where the shaft goes into the box

is there a seal in there that can be replaced or is the box junk


2001 2500 gas btw

You can replace the seal, but 80% of the time it will leak again. The shaft most likely has a grove where the seal rides. Unless you can get a sleeve that fits the shaft you are better off replaceing the pump.

Replace the box with a rebuilt unit..... There's a few out there.......

are we talking about the intermidiat shaft connection which would be the top one into the pump
or the bottom shaft where the pitman arm connects to ?

if its the pitman arm site replacing is worth it takes about 20minutes
reseal package is about 36 dollars i believe


if its the top part leaking not worth the effort cause once that site is leaking a new seal want last long

i was looking online they are like 600$+

it has been completely resealed and is dry as a bone everywhere else but the top lol

my trani is leaking and hmmm i think its a good rustpotection underneath
and i can safe the maintnance since theres always new oil in it :d



a rebuild pump shouldnt cost you 600bucks
i think there arround 350 rebuild with a core on it

im gona be honest

its a custom blend lift LOL

but very well done. very strong with ladder bars and whatnot.

looks/feels stronger than a bolt on

I agree with summitric just change the steering box. The seals don't last, see how much side play you have. Most seals don't leak the problem is mechanical.buy a box

yeah i will, i already changed all the gaskets that can be changed and was NOT the problem
