Not from my experience. If your fine with spending a few coins check out al priority. It's a "multi purpose" parking system. Lol Works awesome. Doesn't work on radar operated one's though. Just laser

Had covers on our vehicles, probably 8 years ago or so... The covers with the lines through them, and if seen from anything except directly behind, u couldn't make out any #'s or letters. Cop followed me one day and pulled me over. He proceeded to use his knife and cut up the cover. Threatened to write a ticket, but just a warning. Also said he would drive by our house and check the rest of our vehicles within a few days. He was kinda jerkish about it, but I understood. These aren't available from my speed warehouses anymore, and haven't seen any like them since. Mud does work good :)

Two balls in your bumper work, slap in a 2" and a 2 5/8" put the slip over covers on them. Obscures the plate just enough.

When I still had my canyoun, I needed a hitch with a 10" offset to haul my quad trailer level. Looked goofy as hell but did a great job of covering up my plate.
