Wife booked a surprise trip to disneyland for me and kids. Was in kahoots with my assistant - was wondering why my next week looked so light!

Staying just outside of park gates in Anahiem. kids are 5,7 and 15. Haven't been there in 30 years?

Do they have the same Fastpass as Disneyworld? there for 5 days - any must sees?

Flying by the seat of my pants here..........

They do have fast pass, but can only use it on ride at a time. Not sure if that's the same as Disney world or not.

I was there in 2007. Fast Pass was still in effect. Must see...evening Lazer show, The newer roller coaster in California Theme Park (Can't remember the name) is pretty cool. The big high wheel is good if you want some pictures from above. Take in your own snacks to cover you for lunch, food is crazy expensive in the park. I recommend FRS radios to keep in touch with the kids. Pirates of the Caribbean is neat, especially when you consider how old it is. Evenings are really neat there. We were there in November and they did the fake snow thing with Christmas music playing...so cool! Space Mountain..wear a neck brace for that one. If you're staying just outside the park there are some nearby buffets that are way, way cheaper than inside the park and great for the kids. Have breakfast and dinner before you go in to the park. Have Fun!

Went 09 and 10. Fast passes are still around. We got up early and went to the park first thing as it is very quite! Packed a lunch, left park about 2pm as it gets very busy, did some swimming and relaxing and then went for supper and back in the park at about 6:30 as people usually clear out for the supper hour. Must sees!! There is so many. California screaming roller coaster, Tower of terror, space mountain are all great!! Universal Studios The Simpson ride is unreally!!! KIDS and My favorite! Jurassic Park ride is cool as well. If you want a nice treat for either lunch or supper go into the restaurant at the Pirates of the Caribbean(Blue Bayu) Very awesome, my kids still talk about! Have fun and wear good RUNNERS!

went to both Disneyland and disneyworld which are more or less identical for the main attractions although I preferred Disney World. 5 days as an adult at Disney Land is a lot of time. I suggest that you take a day trip to Universal Studios as well. A lot of cool rides and features. Some people mentioned to bring a lunch. When we went, we packed a lunch but was stopped at the gates and they made us dump our sandwiches as they don't allow food in. Maybe rules have changed since 2004. Better check before doing so. Food is expensive once in the gate and it is mostly "fastfood" style. And yes take full advantage of fast pass to avoid lengthy lines. Unfortunately you can only have one pass at a time.

Mary Browns at Knotts is a great meal.Great basic food, affordable and not the crap the sling at you in Disney.Rides are as good, theme shows are a good time. You'll have a blast and be kicking yourself that you missed something no matter what you decide.Take in a hockey game, you'll go for half the price as up here

OMG I had the Disney Album from It's a Small World when I was young...and was in Disneyland when I was about 12.......could't wait to go on this when I was 38...........the memories it brought back were wonderful...........although I don't think kiddo and hubby were thrilled.......they endured it for me :)

If you have young kids, Goofy's kitchen for supper is awesome! the characters come around to the tables and spend a couple of minutes with your kids, pictures, autographs ( plus they make a pretty decent Mac and Cheese) . During the day out in the park, there is always a lineup to get the characters picture with your kids. :)

oh my god we just got back yesterday......shorts and t-shirts for 9 days and then we flew back to Calgary and saw snow.......Disney land was great......Cal adventure was even better...Uni studio was even better but the best ride was XLELERATOR at knnots was the best ride of them all......0-82 mph in 1.8 seconds......went on it 12 times and got the shirt to prove it......lol......lego land was cool but rides where made for under 8 years old.......sea world was not the best but shumu was cool........I didnt even think of it but 6 flags rock from what I hear......whish we had a free do to go but we were booked up.....Universal was great because of the halloween party......

as for lines it is dead at disneyland,knots,universal,everywhere.......we picked the best time to go........max line was 10 mins.....everything was set up for halloween but the day after halloween was christmas.......WTF christmas already! in the states halloween is getting to be bigger that christmas and very cool.......you will have a blast.....we did!

oh and as for food you can get lobster and steak at the steakhouse or joes crab shack cheaper than hot dogs and a bottle of water in disneyland......there was a crepe place on disney mains street that was great........

Look up ride max. It will plan your day and give you the shortest lineup time. We were there 2 years ago and it worked great. All you do is put what ride you want to go on for that day and it will do the rest.
