Unless the bike is in need of parts in order to run properly, or you race MX OR have a lot of money to just throw away, save yourself the time, money and hassle and just the ride the thing..

But if it is in need of some odds and ends to run and function properly, take it to a mechanic or someone who is mechanically inclined with motorcycles who can tell you what it needs...

Just my opinion... it doesn't seem as though you are very experienced with bikes yourself so why not just learn to ride, gain some knowledge and experience and save the money you'd waste into buying modifcations or aftermarket parts for it for upgrading to a newer bike later on? But of course like I mentioned if your loaded and have all the money you want to throw away then giver,

just my two cents..

Agreed, Decent tires can change the whole feel of a bike, the best upgrade, or bang for your buck. Also get a good set of sprockets, and a decent chain. No body likes to walk, and or push. There is a reason some chains are pardon the pun "dirt " cheap. Adust your suspension to your weight and riding style. Trial and error sometimes, but worth it in the end. As LadyD states, just enjoy it and ride it. Also , and this depends how long you ride, a comfy seat upgrade is recommended. Better than the seat you probably have , which is like sitting on a 2 x 4, imoho.
