December 2009 Conditions

Christmas Weather Forecast looks good.

Currently -10 here and has been snowing since Sunday about noon. No wind to speak of. 14 day forecast is for temps to remain around -10. Supposed to be sunny Christmas and Boxing Day with snow starting again on Sunday for a few days. Should be great snow conditions the next two weeks. Will keep you updated if anything changes.

Also wanted to let everyone know that there have been ALOT of moose incidents this past week. They are out on the highways licking the salt off the roads and people are hitting them. PLEASE PLEASE be careful and be aware that they are out there on the roads. Hitting a moose never ends well for either party.

Talked to Hotrod today. He groomed Renshaw trail Thursday (24th) and said there was around 14"-16" of new snow around the cabin. Groomer had a hard time pushing up the last hill as you come up to the cabin. So snow is good! Said there was 96 rider up since last Sunday and the trail wasn't in too bad of shape due to cooler temps keeping things setup well. Happy Holidays Everyone!! Higgins.

Bluebird skies and -6 this morning. Slight wind. Some of the boys are riding Lucille today (doing some work at the cabin) and the rest are at Renshaw. They should be able to post some nice pictures today, given the sunny conditions.

The guys that arrived last night reported slippery patches from Mount Robson to McBride, but not too bad. Lots of deer and moose out in the ditches and crossing the roads, so please watch out for them.

Well she was bluebird sky's indeed today, we rode Renshaw. Went into to Blackwater and the Anthills and a few other areas. The snow was slightly wind blown and set up. It wasn't much deeper than 1 1/2 feet in the deepest area with an average of 1' snow. But untracked in every area with alot more left, but im sure after this xmas weekend it will be quite tracked. Heard Lucille was quite tracked up as well, that was the busy area today. I had some bad luck today as my track started separating and I lost over 12 lugs from both sides, that was on the trail down. Looks like theres no bond between the outer layer and the lugs, there just peeling apart, hope it lasts the weekend. Snowseeker had some issues with his rails, they both bent pretty bad.

hooked up with the boys yesterday after I found out my engine is done in my doo again. Borrowed one of Rod's and dropped into Winbergers and the snow was very good in there.
Was helping get a sled turned that had good stuck in a ravine we were trying to get up and someone dropped over the top and rammed into me and the sled we were trying to get spun around sending me 30 feet down the hill. no damage to the sled but my body took a beating and I will be out of comission for some time. Nothing broken but banged up real good.

We were at Renshaw again, It was a very busy. We went to Shale mountain, past sprit lake. The snow was nice there not to busy, we seen about 30 other sleds there. The snow was about 1' powder, And a bit deeper in the bush for boondockers. We had a great day riding, blue sky's, sun, what more do you want.
My sled ran awesome, except when the charge tube blew off by the turbo, guess I didn't tighten the clamps good enough. to me..:d

Yes the bunny was stuck..

My Track, Well 10 lugs blew off, some on both sides, but was fine today, no issues.

Where Going Tommorow? Renshaw Tommorow again.

Lucille is very tracked and well used over the last few days,
Not sure about Bell.
