This was just a topic, in the "chatbox" on the bottom of the main page. Gotboost informed me of it, and it is well worth the entire watch. It is long.... but know what you are paying for!

the reason i do all my own work on my cars.....

This reminds me of a few years back.. i wanted to make a bit of money and i was going to school in Ontario at the time.

Edmonton was selling 2002/2003 Volvo S40 for aprox 17,000. @ over 130 000 km
Montreal has no use for used cars and are therefore very cheap.. i bought a 2002 Volvo S40 with 60000 km on it for 10,900.... ch!t i could make 6 grand with this

bought it drove it home to edmonton... the trip cost me less than 300 bucks

My dad's a mechanic, i've rebuilt cars and engines, so i bought the volvo book and went to town checking EVERYTHING and making sure everything was to spec

out of province inspection are expensive and i didnt want to pay for it more than once
well i brought it to midas and lo and behold they wouldnt pass the car because they said they had a HUGE list of defeciencies.... and this and that and blah blah blah
i told them they were full of sheit
and they said and i quote "Are you calling my mechanic a liar, the guys been in the business for 30 years you punk"
to which i replied... you have a pretty horrible mechanic on your hands then 30 years and he acts like an apprentice....classy
and i left.. brought the car to another shop (locally owned by a bunch of asians, they did awesome work to cooperate with my brother to get his salvaged truck on the road)
and it passed with flying colours
then i asked myself why i didnt just go there in the first place
