where the snow is
To start with conditions are changing daily. as of sat. the south from york stageing area ( unlaoded first switchback past bridge) trails had 1 foot base very loose wet snow for first 2 miles then 2 feet right to the bowl . in york basin snow was perfect 2-3 feet of loose snow in the trees( very rideable) climbing was soft snow. most lanches down. Lynx had very similar conditions but climbing was VERY UNSAFE . playing in the trees was 3-4 feet of wet snow. on the return lower trails were loosing snow rapidly . I would imagine we will be stageing on the second switchback by next weekend. reports are that the south cabin has no snow. lost lake has plenty of snow BUT WATCH THE LAKE it's open. for all you die hard riders the upper bowls have lots of snow but be pepaired to ride some dirt and the creeks are open and can be hard to cross. my 2 cents cheers:beer:

Was in the Barstool bowl close to Lost Lake on Thursday, saw at least 5 small slides over a one hr period. Tree riding was good but was definitely my last ride of the year for the area. I agree 100% with lightweight about it being very unsafe to do any climbing in the bowls and watch for land mines if riding the area.

The 401 drop is now NOT possible either......800 feet of red shale. Access via the Stinky to 401 is done too , unless you can sidehill 400 feet of stumps and rock.
