clutching for 07 m1000?

Wondering what kind of setup i should be running for 4 post primary weights and what helix i should run ? sled has a 156 2.5 challenger extreme, sled right now has 75 gram weights and a 40 degree helix in it. sled was in at a sled shop they told me that the setup he had in should work well. Was out in Valemount sled would only pull around 6300 to 6500 first day shaved weight off the primary weights to 71 with the same helix, sled would still only pull around 6800 to 6900 rpms i'm pissed because you spend a bunch of money at a sled shop and you figure they should know there stuff not fun grinding weights in a parking lot in -20 any input would be great!thanks

from what i understand about clutch your helix is to high you should be 38 or 36 right from the cat manual for the m1000 higher the helix number will bring down rpm but will increase back shift my m1000 i have 80 g wirghts with a 36 and i pull 7200 rpm factory is 7200 to 7400 rpm is what ac recomands

80 gram weights on a 3 post primary? or do you have a 4 post? I think that is my next step is the helix just don't know why that sled shop put that steep of a helix in everyone i talked to is running the same as you mentioned.

i have an slp pipe setup with a 3 degree timing key and a boostwurx control box was running around 1000 to 1100 degrees uptop.

did you change your clutching at all with the slp pipe your should be around 7500 rpm not sure about the timing key

call echo cycle in edmonton alberta ask for josh in parts he s knows hes stuff i have 09 m1 so i'm kinda comparing mine to yours but a 07 m1 mite have a different rpm peak i dout they havent changed much

The only way you could pull four 75 gram weights is with a turbo and 280 hp. Stock I think is 65 grams so with mods like a complete pipe you might pull 68 grams. This is at 4-6000 feet.

yeah i was shaving the weight down and brought it down to 71 grams but i think 68 grams will be pretty dam close but i need to see what a 36 or 38 helix does to it before i go too light on the weights

It was running awesome and i didn't make the call on the helix change it was the sled shop and by awesome i mean between 7200 and 7400

On mine I have 63 gram weights, 36 degree helix, d&d pipe, y-pipe. Runs not 2 bad but needs a little more tuning. Call dons speed parts talk to Barry he really knows the M's. Also did you get the 09 ecu flash, made a big difference on mine.

i have a boostwurx controll box but thanks for the info i knew i had to shave more weight but didn't know it had to go that much

A/C 67g weights, 36 degree helix, stock yel/white primary spring will work with your setup - end result 75-7600 RPM. Don't stagger the weights in the 4 post clutch, or you'll be looking for a new spider. A shift assist will help the secondary, an RK Tek torsional conversion with a 36 degree helix will make you smile, and help belt life.
