So I have been thinkin about putting on a clutch kit to give my sportsman a little more omph when I get on the throttle. I know it will lower my top speed but how often are you using top speed on the trails or the frozen river anyways.

One of my major concerns is if I put a kit in will I shread more drive belts due to the higher RMP engagment? I know it's not a major, major fix but more just a hassle to be changing on the trail or where ever it might go out.

Also wondering if I decided to put a kit in which brand do you reccomend?
Ive been looking at an EPI but was wondering what anybody else would suggest and why you would suggest it.

Also what is good about your brand vs. other brands.

Thanks in advance.

I have installed an E.P.I clutch in my 08 500ho, what a difference it made. Yes you lose a little top end but who drives full out all the time, I have had no issues with my belt and the low end oomph is way better.

Which kit from EPI did you put in? also just outta curiosity about how much top end did you lose? I am with you on the statement about not riding flat out very much. But thinkin if I lose a little speed on the clutch kit I might pick some back up with bigger tires so it probably wont be such a big deal.

I believe I've also heard clutch kits improve belt life due to less slipping. I also heard they lower trans. temps too, but I doubt by much cuz there's still plenty of friction going on.
