I have had this discussion with many people (mechanics, wanna be mechanics, fellow sleders, etc). And the answers are mixed. Is there a chip in brand new sled/atvs that limits the power out put of the machine until it is broken in? Some say yes some say no, some say it stays for a certain amount hours on the machine, some say it is a certain amount of miles on the machine. I was if any one out there knows for sure or just tell me your thoughts. Thanx:confused:

ski-doo definately has it programmed into their computers, just like most automotive computers..... Not sure about cat, yam, or polaris. After so many hours, or kms, it seems to liven up(i felt it on my 1000rt).

My 800 XP was the same...dealer said it would livin up after about 10hrs or a 100km whichever came first and sure enough you could really feel it put out more power after a couple days of riding.
