The lodge has catskiers in it from December 3,2010 to April 5, 2011 this year. After April 5 the lodge is open to sledders for 3 weeks. I have been told that if you go out there while they're catskiing and ask at the lodge they will tell you what terrain you can ride on. I'm sure it's all the skied out terrain that they have so you may be just as far ahead to stop at the 60km and ride Hope.

This year is a little different then in the past because they have groups both median and other that booked out the lodge early season. In the past if you knew the owners there was some random availability early season, but not so much this year. I've been trying! haha.
As for spring I hear there is only a couple of rooms left... SERIOUSLY!! They are almost booked solid already.
CRAZY! You know it's sick when...

I have ridden every year in and out of Chatter no matter what time of winter season......you don't get the area to ride that you get during Spring, but it's still awsum to ride and well worth the trip in there. Yes the owners just point you in them direction to stay clear of skiers and at the end of the day, they invite u in for a cpl pints before the trip out:beer::beer:
Awsum place and even better people up there.

Do they actually point you into some nice areas, or they just tracked out ski runs?

I did e-mail the lodge there, said they had skiers in there mid nov and pretty much booked for the year already. Crazy if you ask me, but i am sure they already have enough snow for a ride up there

From what I am told, there are designated ski areas, and also designated sled areas. Some are too low of a slope to have quality skiing, so they let the sledders shred there.

Come spring, the areas totally opens to sledders, skiers are welcome to use he area too, but most are done at that time.

I've been in there twice skiing and it is not only a beautiful spot but the owners and staff are great too. Hard working fantastic people ! I'm curious where you stage from this time of year? Do you have to drive around the arm of the lake or is it frozen?

If you wanna stay in their good books I would not camp on the road near the turn off to chatter. They have staff getting in and out and last time there was campers blocking the bridge.Dale was not a happy camper! They cannot stop you but it is just a courtesy thing. They are a good bunch and I was with the very first sleddin group to ever stay.
