Used to own a Snow Hawk back when I joined Snow and Mud in 2008...hence the name FernieHawk.

I would buy a new Alpha Hawk in a second if it had 700-800 cc 2 stroke and a CVT...sign me up.

Had to do that last year when reverse wasn't working on the old m8. Never again. I'll hook a truck up to it before i do that again.

Don't get hung up on the fual rail - patents can be written around details like that fairly easily. Could be a illustration only.

I wouldn't be a first year buyer, but if they proved to work great, and be reliable, I can see myself as a year two buyer.

The 2nd generation snowbike (if it becomes reality) will not replace a sled, but it should prove to be another choice that may be more cost effective then building one. I’d be a 1st year buyer, frankly the OEM’s do a great job providing excellent equipment for the backcountry. I’ve seen increasing comments over the years that “If I cannot test ride, I won’t buy”. Wasn’t long ago that you couldn’t demo any toy (street bike, dirt bike, sled, quad, etc), and the manufacturers still managed to sell equipment, so not sure where we as a group decided the manufacturers were incompetent. Most any new platform has a LOT of engineering, R&D, and resting long before it sees a sales brochure. And for the naysayers I ask this: when’s the last time Yeti, CMX, Timbersled, etc offered demo days? Never happened, and after building a snowbike myself I can say you can build one that works well, but it’ll cost you big $$$. Sure, you can just bolt on a track kit, but it is a compromise - it simply won’t work as well as a properly set up machine. Kudos to Cat for investing the time & $$$ to push the envelope in a niche market, haven’t seen anything from the other manufacturers...

Argyll has done a lot of yeti demo days and had timbers to compare to on different bikes, been there... got the t shirt

I agree though, this might be a great option, the bike I wanted was 30k when I was done dream building it...
