carbon buildup

just wondering what causes this. my plugs seemed to have a bit of buildup on them after only a coupe rides...i noticed i was only hittinf 1100 on my egt. not sure if that is low or not. would being to rich cause it to not burn off?

THERE ARE SEVERAL POSSIBLITLIES... DOO YOU SEEM TO BE USING TOO MUCH OIL? IF THE PUMP IS TOO RICH, IT CAN CARBON UP ANDFOUL UP PLUGS... U MIGHT CHECK YOUR RAVE VALVES TOO.... CHANCES ARE IF YOUR PLUGS ARE FOULING, THEN THE RAVES ARE PROBABLY BADLY GUMMED TOO. OTHERWISE, 1100 MIGHT BE ON THE COOL SIDE.... TRY 1 MORE SIZE JETS AND GET CLOSER TO 1200* EGT. THE HOTTER THE LESS CARBONING, IS THE NORMAL RULE OF THUMB........

well i just serviced my rave valves, it never fouls plugs, they are a nice tan color after being hard on the throttle, compression is at 150 per side...i run bombardier mineral oil since new...however it does puff a bit of smoke every time i start it.....i noticed the other sleds i ride with dont seem to.. i had to replace my pistons about 4000km ago because it seemed like carbon buildup was breaking off and scaring the pistons.

You want to optimally run at 1200-1250 on egts on a long pull.. So may be able to go down one more jet size. running mineral oil is good... How is your sled running now??

its running like a top, installed the boondocker power resistor and my digatron works, nitrous solonoid the whole works, i meant to thankyou for settin up that nitrous system it works soo good. not sure what max rpm i should have my clickers on when im running nitrous thogh, i have it at 8000rmp then about 8300 on the button, but dynoport says i should be running 8300 with the pipe so im not sure if 8600 woud be over reving a 600 or not...

You should try to run it at 8300. To run it at 8300 what clicker number are you on?? Glad to hear that it's workin good now..
