Ontario and Quebec courts have approved a class action settlement with Volkswagen, stemming from an emissions scandal exposed in 2015.The issues center around about 105,000 Volkswagen and Audi 2.0L TDI diesel engines. Now, Canadians who are part of the class action settlement can submit compensation claims starting April 28. Apart from cash, Volkswagen said in a news release that vehicle owners can sell or trade in their vehicle, or terminate their lease early without a penalty. Owners also have the option of keeping their vehicle and received an emissions modification approved by regulators and an extended emissions warranty.

Claims can be made online at or through a paper claim form also available on that portal or by calling the Canadian Settlement Claims Centre at 1-888-670-4773.
Volkswagen said that as claims are approved, claimants will be able to schedule appointments with at their preferred Volkswagen or Audi dealership in Canada to wrap up their settlement transactions.

- VW Golf, 2010-2013, 2015
- VW Passat, 2012-2015
- VW Beetle, 2013-2015

- Audi A3, 2010-2013, 2015
