i have an 800 and 500 09 renegade, and cant keep a darn clutch belt for more then a month, they both do have EPI mudder clutch kits, tires are only 26s on both, im baffled, and at 190$ each it gets expensive, im not referring to water coming in the housing that has been taken care of, any suggestions?

Curious as to why you used mudder clutch kits for 26" tires? Aren't the mudder kits for extremely heavy large diameter tires? Most guys I know with can-ams run 27" and 28" tires with no clutch kit and don't have any belt problems. 2 guys I have ridden with have 29.5 outlaws and no clutch kit and are still on thier first belt and have around 1000km on each machine.

I would almost think the clutch kit is part of the problem as a few guys I have heard of that went to the HD clutch kits always seem to have problems with belts. One guy on here has a brute and put in a HL extreme clutch kit and burned through belts fast but I run 28" on my Brute with stock clutching and have not had any belt problems at all.

i put the kit on the 500 first, they came with 25s stock, i put on 26 mudlite and started burning belts, so the dealer told me i should put a kit in it and of course i figure them to be the experts i did just that. but the problem still persists, im lost

I would almost guess that the clutch wasn't adjusted properly as 26" mudlights should not require a clutch kit but it could be something is out of adjustment or alignment in the clutch housing. But should not need a mudder clutch kit unless going to large heavy tires IMO.
Here is a link to the EPI website and it says right in the site that the mudder clutch is made for heavier 28-29.5 in thick gumbo style mud and is not recommended for trail riding. They don't have any clutch recomendations for tires smaller than 27".

You might also want to try a can am forum to see what some other guys recommend as they would have way more knowledge on the way the clutches and such work from having more people discussing how each clutch works and helps in all situations where as some dealers are going to recommend what they think might help instead of what actually works.
