Go past nordegg about 23 km turn left at the brown bighorn damsite signRandom camping is available almost everywhere my preference is lookout rd turn right the right againIf they do not have all of the trails open there is not very many trails to ride we covered all of the trails on the south side of the dam in on day and all of the trails on the north side of hiway. 11 the second day ( at least the trails on the maps)Make sure all of you machines have insurance and registration and plates attached

We're out here right now. The Joyce river trail is closed, the rest are super dry and dusty. There was a ton of people here this weekend....lots of brain dead turds ripping past camp, not wearing helmets, just being stupid. I prefer to camp out at the bottom, along the river versus up top.

The turn-off is around 22ish km past Nordegg, you can't miss the sign saying "Bighorm Damsite". It is around 5km past the Indian gas station. The trails are great for the family. My 8 year old daughter rides her 90 on the trails, the wife drives the Ranger with my 6 year old, and I ride the quad or dirt bike. It really is a nice place, the scenery is worth the drive. The trails on the south side of the dam are well maintained, but there's no mud to be found...it's dry and dirty. There is a little more mud on the trails across the highway. It's a big area, so it will hold a lot of campers. Fins and feathers are in there all the time, checking for insurance and registration. You can buy firewood from the indians for $5 a bundle, but bring a chainsaw and cut your own...it's a lot cheaper. The few turds didn't wreck it for me, I just shake my head at them, and hope I don't come across them when they split their heads open. It rained pretty hard last night, and snowed lots up on top, so we packed up and headed home today, but the trails would have been great with the moisture.

You didn't miss much, but I guess no matter how bad the conditions, or how sh!TTY the rum tastes, it's still a bunch better than rainbow frikkin lake. I think we might brave the crowds and come back for September long.
