Called Polaris Canada inquiring about permanent fix for driveshaft issue. They are putting the "klamp" on the 2014s! No retrofit new shaft, no redesign. I registered my dissastisfaction. Maybe if all 20,000 of us call and complain they will do better. Call 1-800-704-5290.

Its the principle of it, $15,000 for a new sled...... to have a failure and have them put a band aid fix on it. But then to produce the following year with the same known issue and put the band aid fix on from the factory!! This does not instill customer confidence and shows a lack of respect for the customer.
I am not saying that every pro is a pile of junk, but from my stand point when I was looking to snow check a new sled this year I had looked at the pros. I looked at the motor issues that Polaris has had, as well as the drive shaft failures and watched how Polaris has handled this. For me I decided not to roll the dice and hope for the best with a pro.
I can not be the only customer that has looked at things like this, and every sled has its issues but a gut feeling told me to stay away.

Ok if you say so..... You feel putting a chunk of aluminum on a poorly designed part if ok ?? Kind of tends to take away that reliability factor when you need to put crap this on the drive shaft, would have been better if the company just said we made a mistake. Here is a redesigned shaft, but nope same old crap in the models that they plan on selling next season.

$15,000 sounds a little high for starters, but anyway...
I really don't see what the big deal is. They acknowledged the problem. They came up with an easy solution.
Why fix something that doesn't need fixing? I know of some sleds that are not running the dreaded clamp and havn't had any problems. A few of those sleds are 200+HP.
Some people need to stop reading the interweb, looking for something to worry about.
If the clamp didn't work, then yes... there would be a problem.

Why would someone even do something so stupid?
I think it's a mistake that Polaris will regret. Many potential buyers are gonna go into the showroom and look underneath, and walk out saying they will keep their old sled... or choose another brand. It just shows lack of due diligence.
If that was the case, why use the clamp next year?

I was guessing low, looks like I was right ! Should come in around $15,700 ish

I have to agree that the Clamp should be used until the new part shows up.. the piece of mind alone. How ever I do not even know what the clamp looks like...but it does sound like a Band-Aid to a problem that should be addressed.
That drive is not mission capable / it's cheap glue and fence post clamps
it should have been rectified for 2014 with something stronger ,to instill
confidence in there customers , Evan if it is strong enough the way it is
u always Se the guy on the side of the road broke down with the aditued
(if it ant broke don't fix aditude) preventable maintenance is key to having only G times
the rmk assault retains the chain drive for hard core uses and dependability ,
that is the sled to buy ,
the track hooks up like a mofo and if keped up speed and proper throttle in the pow it won't trench

So of all the people posting here tonight....... Do you own a 2013 Pro RMK? If so, have you had a drive shaft fail? If you have were you running the clamp?
If any of these questions do not apply to you, do not post.
While I understand that some people suffered early season failures, the simple fact is that the Clamp works and this is an absolute non issue to even discuss anymore.

I doubt Polaris will change there mind on this. If they redesign the 14 then they will have 20000 13 owners wanting the upgraded axle. Its economics it appears to me. Just my 2 cents.
I dont own a 2013 pro... Ive owned all kinds of polaris sleds in the past,, still have 2 polaris quads and a side by side.
AND im in the market for a new sled. Dont think Ill be buying a PRO tho and this is one of the reasons why.
