I have a 2005 BruteForce 750. I went fo a quick spin today and noticed that the 4 wheel drive will not engage. Periodically it will but not always. sometimes the 4x4 and 2x4 flash back and forth, but sometimes it will stop flashing and say its in 4 wheel drive but its not? The KEB actuator makes its noise when turned on and of i read on here that if it still makes its noise that it isnt the ECU shot? anyways through me out any suggstions on how you incountered this problem.

Thanks Calder

On my buddies brute the acctuator bent so wouldn't engage the four wheel drive still made the noise though. I think it was shy of 400 bucks for a new one and pretty simple to change.

That noise coming from the actuator on your belt housing is normal. They are pretty loud. When you turn the key on and off the actuator resets and that's what your hearing.

If your 4wd works intermittently it's more than likely the actuator.

Also those KVF front diffs are extremely weak and are known to completely let go, so be careful when you engage them at higher speeds. You should be almost stopped when switching. I've rebuilt too many of them and kawasaki says it's customer abuse, rather than design flaw. They're also a pain in the a$$ to get out of the frame.
