Hello all.I have a 2008 750i brute force with 400 kilometers on it.When I last drove it,I had no top end power p-ast 45 mph, backfiring, sparking from the exhaust and the muffler was glowing red from the heat.Would anyone have any idea of the problem before I get a 500 dollar bill from the garage?

Is your rad plugged up.........never seen a muffler on a quad glow red before...usually the* motor will crater long before that......I would check cooling system first...... but the brutes are famous for over heating.

Thanks for the response. The guys I was with never saw it before either. It ran ok as long as I kept it 40 mph or under but seemed to deteriorate as the day went by.I'm going to check out the cooling and exhaust systems.

Check your water pump is working properly and also make sure that your rad is not plugged. Even after I wash our brutes with the pressure washer.I take the hose from the house and run the water thru the rad making sure the water coming out the otherside is clear.

One of the guys I ride with just bought a new 09 BF 750I this spring, it was always overheating even with the rad clean, he replaced the rad with one from Highlifter and hasn't had a problem since.

i didn't have the no power and glowing muffler but yes to the overheating..... i put in a 2nd rad on the rack and its way better than just puting ur stock one up top...... twice the cooling... winch work better . quad runs better ect.....

but with the no power and glowing muffler i would have to say that mabe its running lean.... cause lean will get real hot............real fast

My 08 was overheating bad too, I got the rad realy clogged by dunking the nose into a deep gumbo clay mud hole and that crap seemed to bake on to the rad surface. first used just the hose from back and front to get the chuncks off then, Used limeaway, sprayed on, let soak for a few mins then rinsed thouroghly, this disolves the caked on mineral. Also topped up the coolant res with redline water wetter. I now try to keep the rad out of the snot and have not seen the temp. light in a year or so.

Check your spark arrester for sure , once your rad has been COOKED it`s done. The fins are swollen......

Once she`s been cooked good , your water jackets swell not allowing enough air through the rad . That`s why some bikes heat up even with a semi clean rad.....
