Borla or Magnaflow exhaust?

thats what i got and my truck is one of the best sounding trucks in lloydminster:) but also mine has not very much pipe and BIG tips

also go with true dual

go magnaflow the fit and finish is really really nice. with borla and gibson you don't get much of an exhaust sound. I did a borla exhaust and air intake on a titan and i couldnt even hear the exhaust. But if you want good sound and loud go straightpipe from the headers back

For the cost alone i would say Magnaflow, Borla will cost you an arm & leg. I would be cautious of straight pipe, they are clamping down on the loud motorbikes how long til they start with the trucks too. I'm not that old but i'm just sayin'.

I would skip them and just get a muffler shop to bend you up a custom system. If you do end up buying an aftermarket system get one that is 301SS and not 401SS as the 401 will tarnish and look like crap over time where the 301 should look good for years. I made the mistake of installing a Magnaflow 5" turbo back system but only the tip and muffler are made of 301SS.

I would go with Magnaflow. On our old 5.4 f-150 we had magnaflow straight out the back and it sounded real nice! don't straight pipe it (sounds like a piece of chit!)

as if ricky, MY truck sounds the best in lloyd lol:d haha

Im going magnaflow 2.5 in (dual) and 3 inch out (duel) with cats removed. the 2 in 2 out acts like a H pipe! plus my 454 needs to breath! and going with the 22 inch long muffler! should be a deeper sound! I will tell you how it sound in the next few weeks when I pull out the welder and start welding it up!

That's how I ran my 99 F150. Worked great..


You need a winch too,,When stuck

With my dodge im cutting the muffler out but leaving the cat and the tail pipe resignator in ......One truck in veg has that and sounds AWESOME imo. Not to loud until after 4500 rpm or so still quiet around 1700rpm crusing on the highway

I have built many different hot rods overthe years and all of them got better fuel economy when I put a high flow dual exhaust system on them. Usually uncorking an exhaust by cutting out the major restrictions like catylitic converters will really help an engine breath better.

A lot of the newer CATs flow air very well though so they are not generally as restrictive as when CATs first came out on vehicles. Another nice thing about most bolt on systems is that they are mandrel bent so they flow air consistantly through the bends in the pipes.

i have a magna flow on my 5.4 triton love the sound it full stainless and there price is since tooo. i would go with the 3" single.
