Need help with this 1 - only got 500kms out of stock reed cage and reeds - went to stock cage with carbon tech reeds 1000 kms - 8 lbs of boost centre mount turbo red line g2 box with fuel adjuster - 50/50 avgas&91 shell - there has got to be a reed cage and reeds out there with some kind of longevity - great rig if I could just keep reeds in it ffs

I think Boyesen has the rage cage and it’s aluminum. If you’re going through reeds bad you might be over revving which I hear is hard on reeds.

Clickers are on 4 - revs are at 7900rpm[/QUOTE
are you not inter cooled? theres no reason you should be eating reeds other then your getting to hot on the iat's or you bouncing off the rev limiter. sure u can see 7900 on the dash, but wen it does happen sometimes it doesn't even show on the display. dial ur boost back a hair and see if it still eats them. If it doesn't then you are in fact over revving. Also wen using stock reeds do you have a half peddle on top? if you dont the reeds will run into the mono block and break as well. I have a set of BRP turbo reeds here if u want u can try them. let scooby know if u want them and ill set it up

Tss just ran single set of reed's - 500kms later they got nuked and the cages nuked also - red line put in carbon tech reeds in it just nuked em today at Eagles so choked 29km tow out eating ice bullets then I got hucked off in the corner and sled went off the edge into the rhubarb nuked the boost gauge glove box bars windshield list goes on want to throat punch myself - with the snow on the lakes at Eagles I was able to watch my gauges really good - 7900 all day 8 to 9 lbs boost - it was running a bit rich so I cranked the boost up to lean it out a bit - held it to the bar for 20 seconds straight going across the lake and boom - what about v-force? - I'm thinking I wanna try a different god damn cage than stock and maybe a carbon fibre petal and half go full construction grade cuz that's what I need cuz I'm hard on sh*t

I dunno how v force like boost. they are carbon fibre and they do come with a cage and the have stoppers built into the cage so the reed cant hit the mono block. the polaris sleds are running them with boost. But i dunno how they would be in a doo. deff curious as well.

I think the Instaboost set up even in the intercooled version has high intake temps. I can't believe you can even run that set up without straight av! I know at one time... I heard someome was trying an alloy reed pedal. I don't know how that would work? PM or give Bryce a call at TP. He may know of something like that.

Alloy reeds are old school. When they break it takes your motor with it.

How can it possibly have high intake temp with the water to air and I have a snorkel literally 6 inches off of the turbo

I pulled reeds out of impulse kit because of low end hesitation.. To my disbelif there were 24 thou, so I now bet this was the problem with lag.. Purchased threw impulse

tdr are 22 thou, and work much better I found, Brice at turbo performance sent me a set of 18 thou and I bet they would work great..

I ended up putting in the carbon fibre reeds 207ht, they are 17 thou and heard good stuff from redline

I also did the pedal mod where they are drilled and taped, and then bolted together.. I'm hoping if a blown belt they will keep pedals from warping.. We will see

one picture of the mod and another of what I'm hoping it will help prevent after one back fire..

I nuked the carbon techs from redline in 700km's and folded the cage - it's at the shop now turns out I had a vacuum line off on my rave valves probably causing the backfire - gonna try turbo reeds from Bryce and a turbo blanket and a new top end and hope for the best I guess -fml - if she nukes again in 700kmd it's getting a full send
