Next time I’m using Impact. On my last project I used GC Custom Metals. They’re set up more as an industrial coater and not the best choice for custom work. Their mission statement "We're proud of our work... you will be too" isn't entirely accurate. It's more like " Yah, well coat it... but don't complain about that big run in the paint". The did fix it, but only after chewing me out for being too picky. :nono:

Impact recently finished my rails and torque arms and small pieces, they all turned out excellent. Higgins.

Yea I though I was being to picky to when I got my road armor bumper and it had runs in it......Figured it shouldn't be like that.

Is it just me though, or does powdercoating stand up like ch!t? I swear a lot of parts I buy that are suppose to be, it flakes, and peels as bad as rattle can. Or after the first winter with salt it's all gone. Or maybe it's just crappy quality stuff?

i think its all the prep work. i have some trailing arms done that didnt even last a season. but then i had some truck rims done that have been 2 years through 2 hard winters and not even a nick

Yep, prep is key. Sandblast and coat within 2 days or the oxidation will not allow the PCing to stick properly (at least what I was told). I had one whole sled coated and my other bulkhead and suspension coated by JIT here in Calgary and not a nick or scratch (except where I chipped it with the sled stand - 100% my fault - not a PCing issue). I've had all my springs coated there and no issues either. Buddies truck rims and another buddies bush guard for his truck have been done with no issues as well.

Done properly, it should last for years.

called around and dropped them off with Bruce at Impact Coatings. They were the best price at $60 and he will have them done for early next week. Almost thinking of getting the 09 gade Tunnel PC'd White and Black but im thinking im gonna be buying a new sled in the Fall, So i might do that one instead.
