i have a 97 summit 670 and my belt is sitting to low in the secondary clutch how do i adjust it to go higher. i am running a max 3 belt i was told the top ribs had to flush with the rim but they are down in the clutch so any help would be great.

On your driven pulley there is three set screws loosen the jam nuts turn each one exact same amount counter clock wise to close the pulley usually1 to 2
turns run the machine on a stand and check your height I hope this helps

No you want the bottom of each rib level with the top of the secondary. If it has the 3-10 mill bolts with a tapered ring, then you would loosen the 3 bolts and turn the ring a little tighten bolts a bit then turn clutch and you will see belt start to move. keep going untill you are where you want it.

I'm pretty sure this one is like the way mxz sledhead described. There are 3 nuts and bolts with hex heads in the middle, you loosen the lock nuts and then back the bolts out equal turns to set the height, then tighten the lock nuts again once you've got it set. At least both my secondary's were this way, maybe I'm wrong and it was different for the 1997's though.

Unscrew one of them all the way and see how far it comes out.

Yep - belt is a little too tight, screw the adjusters on the secondary back in a little bit to give the belt a little more slack.
