hear threw grape vine {rumor} has it there try ban ohv-atv snowmoblies in the county of parkland does anybody know any truth to this there some meeting in May is it time to put on battle gear?
Apparently there's a meeting at Muir Lake hall tonight about a new atv club, with trails in the area.County cops are supposed to be there.Anybody know any details about this???
Yes, I'm supposed to be there but instead I got shipped out of town for work.
They are just in the initial stages of getting setup, but much like a snowmobile club its power in numbers, all club memberships will be reported to the AOHVA (Alberta Off Highway Vehicle Association) to go to the government with.
The meeting started at 7:30 at Muir Lake hall, the club is called the Yellowhead Overlanders ATV Society. I will be trying to get more information on this club to all of the Snowandmud.com members.

I was there.Horrible turnout.(17 people)Could definately do a better job of promoting this.If we start talkin about it on here Thousands of people will know.
17 is a not bad turnout. I found out about the club at the Boat & Sportsman show.
Any word on if they are planning trails?
They are in talks with Trans Alta.Trying to get use of some of their reclaimed mine land.
First you guys have heard about the AOHVA???
Are you serious?
Fack, our sport (outdoor recreation) is doomed...
Funny you guys up north are shocked are area restrictions / closures. Welcome to the $*it show. Now do something about it.

I thought AOHVA had there own Crap fest last year? Havnt heard much about them since. They had a small club at the sportsman show didnt look like much. I think they only had a few clubs. All riders seem to not care much. To bad the sport will suffer and the results will affect snowmobiling in the future. We are all motorized in the governments eyes even if we are totally different. JMHO

I'm not sure which crap fest you are talking about, but there is one crapfest I'll refrain from commenting about.
At the end of the day, no matter who they serve or favour, the AOHVA receives the majority of off-road funding and sponsorship to implement changes, controls, and trail sustainability structures. How they disperse these funds has been under debate. At the end of the day they remain a major player in the fight to keep our areas open.
Lets see some projects that are ongoing and still working. How much funding goes into trails? Just a couple of questions
