Our community has lost a great man this last Friday. In the brief period I knew Bart I came to respect him as an honest person as well as a man of his word that others could count on when needed. I will miss our conversations. May Heaven have many snow covered hills to climb and dunes to ride. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him. Condolences to the Weekes Family from all of us at Pine Ridge.

His Obituary reads:

Thell Bart Weekes, 39, of Ririe, was caught in a avalanche near Indian Creek on Friday, April 2, 2010.

Bart was born Oct. 27, 1970, in Rexburg, Idaho, a son of Thell and Bea Jo Grover Weekes.

He graduated from Madison High School. He married Danielle Moore on Feb. 29, 1992, in Archer, Idaho, and they had two children, Jesse and Keri. He was a great husband, father, brother and son. He lived life to its fullest and then some. He loved motorcycling and snowmobiling and was known to yell "ride it like you stole it." He loved to golf, camp and play hard with his family and friends.

He loved sports and coached youth basketball for years. He was a successful business man and ran his own business, Bart Weekes Excavating, for 16 years. He was a joker with a nickname for everyone.

He was an amazing man who would give you the shirt off his back and he will be sorely missed.

He is survived by his wife, Danielle Jeannine Weekes of Ririe; children, Kerigan Danielle Weekes and Jesse Bart Weekes, both of Ririe; mother, Bea Jo Weekes of Rexburg; siblings, JoEll Warwick and Jeannie (Kay) Burrell, both of Rexburg, Mynde Weekes of Hyrum, Utah, and Bruce (Marie) Weekes of Rigby; stepmother, Hazel Weekes of Hamilton, Mont.; and stepsisters, Sherry (Darrell) Lee of Hamilton, Mont., and Corinne (Ed) Brier of Boise.

He was preceded in death by his father, Thell B Weekes; and his brother-in-law, Derek Moore.
