On Thursday, February 16th VARDA will be hosting representatives from Avalanche Canada for an Avalanche Awareness night at the Best Western Plus Valemount Inn and Suites.
Doors open at 630 and there will be presentations, games, draws, prizes and a cash bar for beverages.
This is not just for sledders, but anyone who recreates in the backcountry. Presentations will include Cherry Bowl and the Mountain Information Network.
Admission is by donation and all proceeds go to the Al Hodgson Memorial Fund which helps other backcountry users get trained in professional avalanche safety.
