Just bought the wife a bone stock '13, looking to do some mods as she's a little disappointed so far.
Quad seems really well designed and built, but it really lacks top end for what she wanted (finally hits 85kmh, but 65-85 is far from quick).
Can maybe live with the top speed issue, but also looking for info on clutch kits and the best tire setup to run, also possibly slip on exhaust and a efi controller, anything to try and get a couple more ponies out and to the ground.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

The bike is 100% Kymco , so it is a fine motor . In most cases the Suzuki and Kymco motors are far superior than cats in house motors on terms of reliability . Finding mods for the Kymco 450 may be tough job however ...
Even if you do ,seat of the pants will not change drastically ... It just does not have enough oomph to start with .
A good clutch tune might be money well spent , and if you can find a Cdi box ...of course .. But again per$ spent , is it worth it ?
Great nice little bike , but will never be a true sport 4/4 like a Rene or Scrambler though.
None the less Kymco make great stuff .

Well, good to hear about the reliability at least! Thanks for the input!
Looking into Airdam for the clutching, they built a sweet looking xc450!

Airdam typically takes two months to get your clutch sheaves back and good luck trying to talk to him. ( been there done that).

Try this site ,(link below) and the one on Facebook for reliable info from real owners.

They don't like being started and shut off before reaching operating temperature. They foul plugs, carry a couple spares. If it doesn't start , new plug first. They seem to get better with some miles on them. Check out dstelley on there and highlighter. He had his 450 giving big bores a run for their money.

These are before and after 450 clutch sheaves done by airdam.

FYI . They don't have a CDI so don't waste time looking for a performance one. They have an ECU so a programmer is what you need. You could check Dynateks website. I believe EPI makes a clutch kit

Ah good to know! So far I've looked into epi, airdam and dalton for clutch kits. Speedworx for a pipe and I'll check out dynateks! Thanks!

Kymco used to be part of Honda and they split in 1963. Some small Honda engines are still built by Kymco. Today Kymco makes parts for BMW, Kawasaki and Arctic cat just to name a few. A good partnership with a proven winner is always a good thing.

Huh interesting! Regardless of what some people have said about them I'm sure they're more reliable than Polaris
