looking at their website they are claiming 4hp gain on stock motors... seams alot and then another 4lbs lost

was thinking of trying it on the 880bb this year, and wanted to see what others have seen, was told by a mod shop that it makes a big difference... how is it in the powder, any issues with bogging in the deep powder, current stock intake runs good

thanks for the replys

Freddy i have been running it for for 4 years on two different sleds. 2008 with 860 and now a 2010 with 880. No problems at all with anythink that others are going talk about.
Have the bored carbs also and had to drop the pilots from 17.5's
If you go this way i installed threaded inserts with screws to hold aluminum plate as the velcro didn't work for me. Sure frees up alot of underhood space.

Without changing anthing else other than the reccommended air screw adjustments, my sled ran like ch!t with it on. Had it on for one ride and took it off when i got back. I had lots of venting too so there was opportunity for it to get all the fresh air it wanted. Might have cleaned things up by jetting down to make up for the warm air but thought that would be kind of counter productive. I would never do it again.

Had one on my M1000. Ya, it cleaned things up under the hood and dropped some weight, but I sure didn't see any power increase and my tuning became a lot more finicky. Better places to spend your money IMO.

well i know talking with my engine builder he claims to always find a hp or two on the dyno by removing the airbox, and now talking with a mod shop in edmonton, he swears by this mod... but have heard others that had issues as well

i sure like the idea of cleaning up the airbox, and getting better wirflow threw the engine compartment, but still want reliabilty in deep snow

Used this mod now on my 08 800R for 3000km. It has been awesome. No issues with bogging or power loss. I believe I gained. Also running RK Tek head, Boyesen Reeds though, so maybe combo works really well.

I was looking at mentztoys gauge riser at the show.

With the gauges out a guy could snorkle it there to draw cold air in.

My biggest thing is not loosing my head lights. I do ride some nights here and have had a few late rides ( not by choice ) and a lead dog didn't do 100% to see.

sent from my htc
