I am wondering if it is just me, or has anyone else noticed that their superglides are not holding up as well as they expected?

Mine have some cracks in them and deep gouges, that are not a characteristic of a UHMW product.
Is there a warranty? I just put them on my ramps, and had maybe 4 weekends of use.

Also has anyone else found that the screws they supplied sucks ass?? LOL. I recommend that you do not use them on aluminum, but rather get some shoulder rivets, or equivalent.

I just installed mine, of course the pre-drilled holes didnt line up with the ramp but I drilled new holes, made them oversized to fit the shoulder spacer. I used the supplied screws but I ran a pilot hole into the aluminum first, no issues...

Hi Cuso

We are superglide dealers. We also have installed them in the last 2 trailers that we have had and ours have never cracked. Have you contacted Bowdriks directly? Give Randall a call. Did you talk to the dealer that you bouhgt them from? If you need any help with this please let me know.

Thanks for the replies,
I did send a letter to Super glides themself, and am awaiting a reply.

I bought them at the sled show, and can't remember the dealer name, guess I could find the bill somewhere.. LOL

Those shoulder screws they supply are good for wood, but they are on my aluminum ramp too, and if you hit them with a ski, they rip out,,, from what I have found. Maybe my simmons skis are the culprit?

Does anyone know if there is a warranty of such sorts?

Randall is a total stand-up guy. He will definitely look after you...probably even if he doesn't believe his product is at fault. Give him a shout:)

Hey Cuso

The screws supplied are meant for installation in wood decks. There is a seperate rivet installation kit that can be bought/supplied for installation in metal surfaces.
The other to keep in mind is not to screw them down tight. The spacers supplied should be used, we have seen a few people that throw them away. The system has been designed so that expansion and contraction will not warp the glides.
Hope this helps, drop us a pm if you have any other questions.
Thanks,
Larry

Thanks Larry,
I spaced the glides properly, and used rivets that hold the glides loose. The cracks are in the middle of the treads, no where near the fasteners.
The kit did not have any instructions as to what type of fasteners to use, other than the supplied. I ditched those when I saw them.

I talked to Randall today, He is a total stand up fella!
We discussed what I could do to improve my backing on my ramps to fix the problem. He even gave me a set of new glides!

It's very rare to see a company stand behind their product like that.

Kudos Randall!!:wtg:

I agree... dealing with Randall over a set of quick clamps, he was awesome! Great guy, great products and passionate about what he does!

I have a cracking problem too, but I guess that I should have more backing behind them.
They are supported full length on both sides but only every 10" down the middle. Can't really beef up the ramp much more its to heavy already!
They held up good last year, but this year I have a new crack form nearly every ride.

I have noticed that the glides at the end of my deck are starting to do the same thing. When your carbide hits them, they gouge and eventually split/crack. I thought they might do this if they weren't supported directly underneath, but figured as long as I put them an inch in from the end, they might be OK. They are still cracking/chipping/splitting anyway. I think that they are too thin, and can't handle the cutting pressure that good carbides cause. If they were a little thicker, they might be able to handle the impact pressure. The rest of the glides are OK on the deck, it is just the first ones you hit when you reach the deck from the ramp.
