Anyone ever race in the Baja 1000?

Has anyone checked out the Baja 1000 or raced in it? I've dreamt about racing in that since I use to race my 1981 YZ 80. Does anyone remember the Blackwater enduro races? They no longer exist but they were legendary.
There is a great video out called Dust To Glory, a doc on the Baja 1000. If you get a chance check it out. We are planning to go down there someday to compete in it. Maybe we will even be able to finish it. Bwaaaaap!

dust to glory is and epic movie, a must watch for sure and after that most want to do it for themselves.

I drove score cars with wideopenbaja.com last year. Our group of buddies headed down and did 400 miles of it. At one hotel we saw a group of bikes that were heading the other direction.

We met up with some of the bike guys in Cabo later in the week. They looked pretty beat up. Even still, I would love to head down and try it on a bike.

I just got back from riding dunes at little sahara in Utah. I took a 2010 YZ450 which really got me excited about biking again.
