Anti stab for M sled

Wow there is some expensive kits out there...
Anybody know a better way?

Well, i guess $100 is not that bad if you never have to think about it again..

Just order one of the standard kits IMO. You can build one yourself if you just want a 2 wheel kit for between the rails for that added safety, you can get a lower cross shaft that fits between the rails from an older sled that takes either the 6202RS or the 6205 2RS bearing. Measure the distance from the centerline of the shaft to the track and then add a 1/4"-3/8". You will probably need a 3.25" wheel with the 6205 2 RS bearing (0.984" ID and use a bushing to go to 5/8") or the 2.75" wheels with the 6202RS bearing (0.625" - think its 5/8" ID) with no bushing. I built one like this for an extra margin of safety on a sled a few years ago but wheels are $20-22 each though without the bushings, bearings, shaft, etc, so in the end, its not much cheaper and you have to piece it together.

I have never had any track issues, period.

Running with big power the track will wrap up coming off the drivers and could stab into the rails. Had this happen, not fun, even less fun towing the sled out sliding on the rails. I'm sure it would have been funny to watch though....too bad it was me

So then on stock sleds it isn't a problem? I was wondering what the big deal was............but I'm a little challenged with a bunch of mods enywayssssss.

The 2013 Proclimb M800's front mount position causes an extreme attack angle. (dropped 3/4" from 2012 position). That is why we run anti-stab kits. Especially when Cat suggests running the track loose: 2" sag on 15 lbs. This is why Cat had a side rail end cap recall last year. For $80 it is piece of mind insurance allowing you to run a loose track.

No, most stockers not an issue. As mentioned the new cats have an issue but I think its been resolved.

Here's a video of what happens when you stab a track...yes this was me......a number of years ago......only a small hill but when I got on the hammer to wheelie that little face, the track wrapped around and stabbed on the rails, the sled stopped dead and I went over the bars. Haha watching the vid I forgot I also broke a torque stop and motor mount that day...man that sled had some balls.

LOL walked away unhurt luckily. Would have had a nice pipe burn on my forehead without the helmet LOL, good reminder to always wear your gear boys and gals, never know what will happen. It was June, raining, but still no hood required....
