Allen Creek Alpine Cleanup September 21 2013

On Saturday, September 21 2013, VARDA will be hosting a volunteer cleanup of the accessible alpine in the Allen Creek snowmobile area. The cleanup will take place from 9am-4pm with participants meeting in the Allen Creek staging area at 8:45am.

At the end of the day, we will be hosting a BBQ and the Best Western Plus in Valemount has graciously offered to donate patio space and steaks to thank the volunteers of this cleanup.

The Ministry has set a limit on the number of participants as this area is within a motorized closure, so anyone wanting to participate is asked to email varda@valemount.ca to let us know so we may plan accordingly.

We will be riding into the cabin. Unfortunately there is a trail from illegal atv activity that leads back to almost hillclimb. Some will be utilizing this trail to get away from the cabin and get to popular resting spots. All participants should expect to be walking/hiking for a good part of the day.

If anyone is willing we could use an extra tub trailer or two and bungy cords are always good. Other than that VARDA will supply all bags etc. All a person really needs is their personal gear and a bag lunch.

Government has limited the amount of allowable participants, so it is important that people email me with confirmation of attendance including how many machines and people.

The whole crew is basically made up of folks coming in from Alberta. Its awesome! We have made some amazing friends over the past years and they are there whenever needed. One of the best parts of my job and the sled community in general.
