the hiway mtce company for 3/4 of the hiways in alberta is owned by a large u.k. Company, and they've filed for bankruptcy.... The ndpee govt has paid them a bunch of money to continue road maintenance until their contract is up later this year .... Another sad ndpee situation

nutley has shut snow plows down, in another attempt to get Kinder Morgan built. it is a inexpensive way to kick bc's ndp in the butt to get some action. just an add on to wine ban.

effective only time will tell.

Makes me wonder if a Govt run highway maint program would be better than contracting it out. Since Ive moved to Alberta, 1 thing Ive noticed is they do not know how to plow snow out here, nor do they prepare the highways in preparation for a storm.

Neither do any of the cities. It's like plowing optional is the thing in Alberta.

Over here in BC they pass it off as a freak winter storm, play the safety card and ask public not to drive and hope like hell it clears off and melts before anyone noticed there not even trying to plow. Oh of course they have one truck out blade in the air down the middle of the road because even there not sure where it is.

i actually think that mainroad is doing a good job in the east koot's. last year not so much but this year I think it good.
