Air Filter

Just wondering if anyone out there has been running their Air filter out of the airbox and up on the snorkel. I am trying to gain a little more room in the engine compartment by doing away with the airbox for some larger diameter pipe for my snorkels, ive seen some pics of a couple of renegades running around with this setup just dont know how it performs when its running in the open (water, mud?)

i know of a guy running his polaris like this. he has two pipes with two k and n filters. so far he says it works real good and has no problems.

I would run a shield over them if you splash you will get emm wet

Ya I totally agree with you, I was thinking about a front and partial side sheild to go on it, im running spacers and things tend to get a little muddy.

he just runs the standard k and n pre filter.
