Advise on First Sled?

Hi

I want to buy a sled soon, I have never owned a sled but own a Polaris Ranger HD. I want my sled to be very reliable. I will do most of my riding on my own. The purpose of the sled will be to help me source new hunting areas in the North of B.C (Houston to Cassiar). I live in Vancouver so when I go it is a big deal to drive 1000km to look around, thus the reliable part. I am not interested in 0 to 100 stats or climbing the top of mountains. I imagine virgin trails and deep powder, need to carry a chainsaw and some gear in case of emergency.

What would you buy?

welcome to the site,an excellent resource!!Yamaha are probably most reliable,if your not highmarking and boondockin',they would be a great choice.However if you ever get stuck you'll need a shovel and a winch to get 'er out,big time heavy.My advice is to find someone who wants to sled,find the areas and givver' ,however,travelling(sledding) alone is pretty risky and something not to be done alone.Plenty of people do it,but in the remote areas your going,could be a lonnnnggg snowshoe out!!not to mention avy's,river crossings etc.I'm sure your a capable wilderness wanderer,just don't wanna' hear another stat!Enough of that from me,don't want to sound like i'm lectureing you,so buy a sled,find a bud and send pics:d
