98 phazer no spark???

Bought a 98 phazer has no spark and headlight does not light up when you pull cord.
Any ideas? Got sled from a friend has not run in 6 years it is in mint shape with 1800 km,
he said the last time he moved it he had trouble starting it.

start by checking for any bad wires that may have been chewed on by critters. next would be to check the stators' output by performing a simple ohm test with an electrical multimeter.

there are also a few other possibilities that can all be checked with the multimeter. throttle switch, carb switch, kill switch, and key switch can all come into play.
