Possibly a leaking needle and seat in the carbs. Hac,s were usually pretty dependable and got ripped out for no good reason, however there,s no reason not to take it off and jet for your altitude and temp if your worried about it.

Check all your fuel lines, make sure they are in good shape. My 96 MXZ 583 was doing the same thing as yours and it turned out the vent line had come off the fuel tank and was causing a vapour lock type of problem. When I put it back on it ran perfect again. It's a place to look because I don't think it's a HAC problem.

Good luck. Dan
