My son has this sled and the water pump just went out in it at 4700 miles. That is low mileage in my way of thinking. Upon checking out prices I find that the dealer wants $350 for a new pump. Upon further checking I find that used ones are pretty scarce which makes me think that maybe the pump was a weakness in these engines. If I find a used one maybe it is ready to grenade soon if it has some mileage on it. Does anyone have any experiences with these engines once they get some higher mileage on them? Is the water pump a weak link? I would appreciate any feedback as I don't really want to shell out $350 for a new one but I will if the used option is not reliable. Also are there any sled recyclers other than Sled Parlor or Snowmobile Heaven around?

I had the same sled. Never had a problem with anything. rode it till the odometer quit at 3850 miles and that was two years before i sold it. Rode it like i stole it all the time. My theory is if it can't take it build it stronger. hear lots of cylinder problems with these sleds to never had 1 Only problem I had was it was a beach to start sometimes. Keep your eyes open for a used blowed up engine one that you could get cheap maybe and have a complete parts sled. Have you checked ebay or kijiji? Good luck.:d
