How many km do you have on your 850? Thats an impressive amount on your xm.

It just rolled over 10k. Engine done at around 7500. Primary spit an arm off at 5ish k. Aftermarket shocks.
Xm had the engine replaced at about 8500k although it was running just fine at the time. Other than a handfull of stators, the rest of the sled is original.

Appreciate your feedback and understand why you must stand up for BRP. But in all honesty these tracks are garbage. I ran a 3 inch Camo extreme on a 300hp 4 stroke tank for 8000km and never threw a paddle. Actually rode it harder on the trail than I do now as was a few years back. Now have 2 G4s with junk tracks that ride side by side with my sons Polaris with 3 inch and a handful of T3 800s with thousands of k on them. None of them have track issues. Why cant BRP just admit they screwed up with this track? Dealer told me they have a new heavy duty track but is not available (backordered). Hmmm sounds like they admit they have an issue. Also if they have a new heavy duty one and I have two totally delaminated old ones that they refuse to warranty why not at least give a discount to replace them? Sorry but I will not be putting a BRP track back on and when I do replace my sleds the stock POS is coming off day 1

Sucks, but yeah it is also more than riding fast, when you are doing 50 miles per hour, the track is actually going much faster than that around the drivers and rear wheels. So much so that in slow motion the paddles actually bend backwards and then are launched forward , which is very hard on them especially when the trail is firm. Why is this a hit or miss problem? The depth of the paddle into the ground makes the biggest difference here. and no one check this, if the track sits in the snow half way, no big deal, but when it is in only 1/4 or less, this specifically is very hard on the lug and with speed it is very hard on the lugs. The answer is slowing down and being aware. cheers dave

I feel your frustration, this too is the first of all the skidoo’s I’ve owned that experience track issues. What did you go with for replacement?

Picture me talking and smiling while holding a beer, laughing and being funny sarcastic in the following campfire scenario-
The cause of track failure is twofold.
1. You are riding over 50mph. How dare you!
2. You are unaware.

Unfortunately, your Brp sled has 165hp, it can go faster than 50mph, but only under certain conditions. Eye roll.

Flashback to 2017 to the “wobble clutch” causing 200 degree belt temps and blowing belts. You were riding incorrectly, riding too hard and not letting the belt cool down. But then both clutches get redesigned with bandaid cooling fins. Then a new, more expensive belt is invented to remedy those bad riding habits? Eye roll.

The approach Brp is using is called “gaslighting.” It’s designed to psychologically neutralize and mindluck the customer, and makes them question themselves and their riding. The customer knows in the back of his mind that something is wrong but feels it’s his fault. “Opening a case, begging for warranty”, the waiting game for a yes or no from the case manager. It’s all a part of this process.

In the end, warranty is denied for the broken item and the customer is also mentally and financially broken at this time. He hates Brp but is afraid to speak up. It goes against popular opinion. This benefits the company using this tactic. Brp profits by selling a new pos track to replace the original pos and the process continues. The dealer has your sled, his hand is out to collect a couple thousand bucks from you or ya don’t get to ride and Brp gets to keep stuffing their pockets with cash. They got ya by the halls so to speak.

I recommend to look up the definition/examples of gaslighting. Gaslighting is used in many situations by unscrupulous businesses. There should be a law against this BS. Shame on you BRP. You don’t make enuff profit that you saved by cheaping out on materials in the manufacturing process that ya dump failure cost into the customer?

Just when I recently had a nice sip of doolaide and now I just spit it out again. Good product, bad corporate behaviour.

I’m on a roll here!

The above are my beliefs.

Wifes 3 inch on her xm is bulletproof, i started spitting middle lugs at 1000kms on my 17 154x3 now a few others who have lost luggs pretty early in life aswell. Not the biggest fan on the 3s pretty paper thin
The difference between a 2 ply track an a 1 ply track. Market demanded higher climbing faster spinning. Trail 60km jerry club but what it lacks on the trail it more than makes up for in the POW.

After witnessing the suspicious cracks In the rubber on only one section of my track on the outside only, I believe its a manufacturing flaw. I drive very slow on the trail, and I am aware of the conditions I ride in. Why would the rubber on the belt crack on the backside of the lug???

I have lots of pics of the cracks in the rubber, majority of the cracks are behind the lug.
I will be showing these pics to the dealer. I think something is wrong.

Norona had a good explanation that when you ride to fast on hard packed trails the paddle whips around the rear axle and rips at the base.

There is zero chance you will get warranty, brp doesn't seem to care that this track has the same reliability as a roll of single ply toilet paper.

ya there are lot of lugs starting to split or crack or seperate from the belting but only on the flexed side so
thinking maybe flip it around and get another 4000ks outta it
Fill the cracks with loctite 401 to stop them from propagating.

These tracks won't take high speed on the trails. They build heat and start coming apart. There is even a warning to keep speeds slower on ice or hard pack trails in the Operator Manual.
Do you consider 50km/hr a high speed?

No, I think 80 kmh is the max for best longevity. But I did that all season and mine is showing signs aswell so I guess this track is not very tough.
What was your average trail speed?

It's not even that far into allen ;)

I hope you guys can get someone at BRP to listen.

I have a hard time believing CKMP isn't going through a ton of tracks.
