is this a 377 out of a citation? points could be closing up, try resetting them to the correct gap, happened to mine all the time..........not that hard to do

I don't recall the Citation with the 377 ever having points. I remember CDI.

If i remember correct when i was young mine died and wouldn't start and it ended up needing crank seals, and try a new plug i have seen fuel fowled plugs spark but it wont run.

if its ealy 80's they have points, you have to pull the motor then the starter rope assembly off to get at them, easy....... motor only weighs 100 lbs or so

Could also be the 377 skandic.
