I’m not a doo guy but I saw the expert in action last weekend and it’s a nice looking sled that looked plenty capable. It’s good when each manufacturer advances technology cause the rest have to follow suit. Good for everyone no matter what you prefer to ride.

When are all you guys going to realize that the first year Depreciation is big and nothing new ?
Enjoyed a few years where it didn’t cost new ownership much but that’s over and it’s back to what it should be .
You want to run out and buy or order the latest and greatest and pay the top dollar ?? Get a few rides on them and then ?
Complain when manufacturers drop prices in a few months .
Slow learners ? Lol

Thank the inseason rebates for the crappy resale, hard to sell a 19 for 13 when brand new is worth that.

Time for other manufacturers to follow suit and not offer in season sleds.

i managed to get 13 for my girlfriends summit X 154 3" with shot 600km. HD bumper, spare belt, skid plate, adjustable riser. so 1000$ in accessories. remainder of 4 year warranty. was holding on at 14 but i had about 15 messages from guys saying well i can get a brand new one for 14k out the door. i Called BS and called my dealer. with the 2000$ rebates a black 154 SP with shot was 13,712 + tax so 14,397 Out the door with 3 year warranty. Great deal. But if you have an X package with accessories i wouldnt drop your pants. Used buyers need to understand that the X model is more expensive, has better features, resales better and chances are any used ones come loaded with some accessories. also you still have 3 years warranty from this November vs if you purchase an SP right now your warranty starts right now. Comparing apples to apples a clean used X with some accessories is still better value IMO.

Thats a 4500$ loss for 600km. Good for someone

And the almost 4000 used sleds on kijiji tells me the guys selling need to wake up and realize their used junk isn’t worth more than a new sled as well. I have never seen so many sleds on the market.

I watch the prices closely as it helps me determine where the used market is and where I need to price my stuff to sell. Doo is where Polaris was five years ago, (finally Doo catching up to Polaris I guess) bigger rebates and lots of used stuff with new models hitting the floor better equipped than the previous model. I saw a 17 G4 on kijiji for $7500. Good deal for someone.

I also don’t buy into the “oh well mines and X” selling point. Big deal, different bars and graphics. Nothing that can’t be changed in the aftermarket world. If someone can get an in season model cheaper than a used X there is no big selling point. That person isn’t worried about the lure of the X model otherwise they wouldn’t be looking at holdovers.

The only decent value in a used sled is remaining warranty. A buyer that has some peace of mind for a year or two makes a sale that much easier.

the X has much better running boards, way better suspension, superior handlebar setup and more warranty. To say it makes no difference in resale or used pricing is false. They are not the same product so how can you say it makes no difference when it comes to resale? if they were the same, or comparable product BRP wouldnt offer an SP or X model.

i sell 6+ brand new machines every season. im not making this up

you can NOT make an X from an SP with the difference in price from the factory. FACT. just like the expert model in 2020

quick check.

there may be 4000 sleds for sale on kijiji in alberta.

but there is 3 2019 summit X models. And one is mine LOL. the other 2 are priced outrageously

what does that tell you about the resale and demand for X models
