Eating some crow after yesterdays update......but ill gladly be wrong if this is the cause...

The week ahead is quite the mix bag when looking at the forecast, but we will take a bit of both the sun and the snow! 15-30cms of snow has fallen during the last little storm cycle and this gave the areas a little bit of a reload. The groomers are back in full force and the trails have been buttery lately with the perfect grooming weather.

Pics from Chappell Creek today.

So whats the story if you were pulling up thru the trees and wheelied into a group of skiers etc ? just wondering.. we're not supposed (or didnt used to be) to use 'their' ski tenured areas but they can drop heli's in for pick-up laps in the heart of a managed sled area where people are always riding around on with sleds?, just seems a bit hypocritical on the heli-ski outfits part..maybe times have changed but used to be a big stink about sledding in "ski" areas, and I'm sure they can find somewhere else to do laps other than the little spot in the area that is chappell on a bluebird day.. lame
rant over haha

So
Maybe one of those skiers will get smart and buy a sled to ride up instead of paying for a chopper ride.
if they see peeps already there with sleds
it could b good for sledding , u never know
lol
we have all the freedom out there on a sled

Yes those heli skiers have access to Chappel. They behave like a wife....what's ours is ours and what's yours is also ours...LOL.
On a fresh unmarked pow day I like to carve up their preferred runs asap first thing in the morning....then we go play somewhere else. They don't like to share the area too much after that :)

Saturday night brought 10-15cms to the front ranges and a quick but harsh storm hit the Cariboos mid day on Sunday and this dropped another few cms. The strong winds have created some great pockets of snow in the lee areas and if you go looking the riding was great on Sunday.

The sun looks to be poking out for the next three days and then the weather folks are calling for a reload with snow forecast from Wednesday and into the weekend!

All groomers are back on line and the trails all remain in excellent shape. Kudos to our grooming team for some amazing access trails this season.

Pics from Allan Creek yesterday.

Ride safe

Well a small change in plans today but swept the floor, picked up all the garbage and filled up the wood rack at the Clemina Cabin today and with a super smooth trail that’s going to have a foot of snow on it I’d say she’s gonna be a GREAT WEEKEND!

If someone could bring 4 screws and a Robertson to fix the stool that would be great and I’m sure appreciated!

Happy trails boys and girls!

A winter storm warning is in effect for the area and the forecast is calling for a complete reload. 40-60cms of powdery goodness is suggested to fall on the area by late Saturday. This should make for some excellent riding conditions over the weekend and into early next week.

We always like stories and photos and your info helps us create these reports. Please help us out and report your snow info or maintenance needs here or facebook page or via email.

Allan and Chappell Creek are surrounded by wildlife closures. Be aware of your location at all times and be sure to remain within the legal area. Please help others with education and self policing while out in the field.

Curtis, for a first time rider in Allan, I was amazed how "I stumbled" into the fact that there were caribou closures on the right hand side of the beaten path past the cabin. IMHO, it isn't very well marked for how important the closure is. The only way I saw the sign was noticing it as I drove close by it. Bev was over in the middle of the beaten path and didn't see it and even had a hard time finding it when I pointed it out to her. Just something FYI......

Doug,

good point. Unfortunately that closure your speaking of starts at the cabin area and follows the ridge along the beaten path for 20+km. Far to difficult to properly sign in my opinion. There are extremely detailed KML/GPX files of the allan creek/clemina creek/chappel creek boundaries that one can load into their handheld and even google earth in their phones. I bet the Polaris with the onboard GPS could even load the file. I think thats the direction everyone needs to go as its far more effective with the way technology is progressing aswell as save a pile of money on signage.
