Riding conditions remain excellent as we head into the weekend. User numbers have been very low over the week and all this storm snow is there for the taking!

Winds have moved the snow around a bit and slabbed some of the open areas in the alpine, but the good area very easy to find. The skies look to be clearing up a bit for the weekend which always makes for a great time on the hill.

Bad news about one of our groomers though as it has turned out to be a major breakdown. The repair will take at least another week, but we are doing the best we can and moving groomers as needed. Main issue is that we can’t move machines on weekends so we may have to miss a shift here or there.

Please see below for the most recent details and keep checking our website for facebook page for the most updated info.

Chappell and Allan groomed up tonight and with low user numbers, Clemina will wait until tomorrow.

The warm temps and lower valley rain are not helping our cause, so we thank you for your understanding and patience.

Had an incredible 3rd day in Valemount area riding in Chappell creek Wed Jan 9. Got to the parking lot and there was 6" of fresh snow and 3 other riders. Trail was perfectly groomed with 6-8" of powder all the way to the riding area. Anywhere from 12"-2' in the first open area which we didn't have to leave all day. In the trees, over your waist. Probed 235cm in the open area on a SE facing 10 degree slope. Had another 4" on the truck when we got back down.

We didn't have to leave the yellow circle in the last picture to find untracked snow.

Huge shout out to Tpow, Lisa and Chantel at Summit River. Fantastic and affordable place to stay. Made us feel at home as soon as we arrived. Terry was gracious enough to lend us his Inreach while we were there, which was used to send messages of how amazing the snow was.

Sun and great snow were the theme over the weekend. Winds have moved the snow around a bit and slabbed some of the open areas in the alpine.

The common areas have been well used, but the goods are still out there for those who venture a short distance off the beaten path.

The skies look to be remaining clear for most of the week and there is a hint in the most recent forecast that we may be getting some fresh heading into the next weekend.

We are still down a groomer, but we are moving the machines between areas as needed and all areas are being maintained regularly.

We rode in the area a few days this week.

Stayed at Summit River Lodge. Terry and his staff took great care of us - hospitality was top notch. Food was great. Really enjoyed our stay.

Conditions left us with alot to be desired. We actually left for home a day early. We rode both Allan and Clemina and aren't overly experienced in the area, but had a heck of a time trying to find much that wasn't beat, either in the main areas or down in teh trees. Snow hardness is similar to rigid styrofoam and to say it's tracked out is an understatement. You could get around quite easily pretty much anywhere on a short track machine.

Trails were fantastic. Club has done a great job grooming. Trails are setup really well, especially in Clemina. Only real beef is the lack of wood in the Clemina cabin - there is none.

Nice area, wish we were a week earlier, but those are the risks you take when you are booking vacation a little ways out.
