OMG.....the rain down low has delivered amazing snow up high. I have to admit it was not totally expected but holly hell the snow is great. Friends have reported amazing riding in many areas local to Vale and we just got off the mtn from one of the best days on a sled I have had in a very long time.

Ride safe folks

Rain down low made some shatty roads for the drive in tonight.

Crazy near miss in front of us on the highway just north of town.

Black truck with 2 sleds on the deck got kissed from behind by a semi. Not sure how they both stayed on the road. But the semi fishtailed across the on coming lane, half into the far ditch then back on the road.

If this was you, I hope your sleds aren’t too fawk and message me if you need a witness.

The semi truck had just passed us a minute before. Man the road was slick there!

Not everybody is on snow and mud.
If you were a witness contact the local RCMP and discuss with them.
They will not give out names but they will give your info to the driver of the sledder truck if you tell them to.
That may be the only way to help get your witness info out.
Let us know what happens - this is an excellent opportunity to teach/learn what to do in a similar circumstance.
Be a good learn for the thousands that are S&M members.

Baby its DEEP outside! Holly heck Santa delivered the goods this Christmas. Alpine riding has been amazing this week and it continues to hammer down as this update is written.

Forecasts are calling for another 20cms to fall before Saturday! It's going to be one amazing weekend to be out on the snowscoots.

Lower valley temperatures are still on the warm side hovering just above zero with rain in the valley at times, but please be confident that we are doing our best with the trails and the conditions given.

Some super rad news! Clemina Creek – Will BE OPEN AND GROOMED for Saturday Dec 22nd – The main FSR is still in use to 4km. The groomed track will be set on the paralleling trail. Please follow the groomed path from the staging area and DO NOT ride on the plowed road as hauling is ongoing from 4km decking area.

Please respect all of this new snow. Ride aware and ride safe.

Merry Christmas

Thanks for the heads up Ron, our group (of 6) will be in Vale that weekend, so we will most definitely plan on attending, will go online and purchase, sounds like a good time, never been to it before, so looking forward to it.
