Amazing news! Chappell Creek is groomed! Sorry for the short notice, but this is how early season works!

No new reports from the alpine sorry. I would not expect a drastic change after reviewing some weather stations, but at least we have a start to smooth access. The forecast is not amazing snow wise but any day on the mtn is a good day for me. It will still be classified as early season alpine conditions with many natural hazards still lurking around.

Please remember that Chappell is surrounded by wildlife closures and help do some self policing out there if required.

Trail passes required and if you are waiting for Canada Post to deliver your seasons pass, just bring your ID to the booth for recording.

Ride safe

As Catmando says we rode Chappel today, trail up was groomed right from the parking lot. light snow on the trial and some willows and a few rocks in areas, but overall for early season riding it was good. Once we hit the alpine the snow was between 1' new and over 2' in areas with a good base. The rocks and small trees are starting to get nicely covered. No incidents today and we rode quite hard.
Logged 114 km today from the parking lot, got back to the truck on fumes. Toasted my first belt at 2083 miles on my G4.

On km 11 on the trail one new alfa went over the edge, we stopped and gave a hand, no injuries and the sled was ok.

Was second group up the hill today at chappel. Groomer did a excellent job! Was still decent on the way down too! Lots of snow but 154/ 2.25 seemed to just trench really bad and get stuck :mmph:

We must call it like we see it and it is still very early season conditions around here. Of course, it is still fun, it’s sledding and riding in over a meter of snow is awesome!

The forecast is not awesome for new snow over the next week, so we are doing the best with what we have. Alpine snow levels were measured at 115cms this weekend, in unaffected areas, so there is certainly snow to ride on, but overall conditions are still very thin.

We will continue to update as often as possible on any potential grooming plans, but for now, Chappell will continue as the only groomed trail.

With no new snow in the forecast and only Chappell and Allan accessible, it is extremely important that everyone fully complies with all wildlife boundaries and restrictions. In times of low snow, these areas can be tempting, but any use of these areas is not only illegal, but also extremely detrimental to our cause of protecting our ride areas. Please help with education and self policing while out in the field.

Wife was impressed on how she could trench out and get stuck in Chappell yesterday... really improved our shoveling skillz.

Really great day out there! trail was in awesome shape for the amount of snow the groomer has to work with
