2016 Polaris AXYS RMK long track

i went riding while my buddies took theirs in for re flashes, and stators and oil pumps and their plugs were fouled and those oh so strong S-modules and what do you French call it.....ah the NUN, oh they are also so strong, what does T- Motion stand for? Training Motion, good for guys who are just starting or need help getting their sleds on edge?

And you probably eat your soup with a spoon, but no one dishes you for it :)

Anyways, maybe if we could get this back on track....... As I mentioned in my post, 160hp and 408lbs. Put this with the Quick Drive system and I think the power that is going to get to the track and snow on this AXYS RMK is going to be like no other Stock sled. I just like how Polaris and Skidoo keep pushing the envelope to develop these rigs, each in their own little way.
For Polaris the last 2 seasons for the most part a lot of the structural bonding issues, motors, quick drive belt issues etc have gone away. I personally got rid of my 2013 Pro RMK because of the QD system and went back the chain drives for 2014 and now on my 2015. I wish I would have went back to the QD system on my 2015 based upon how Polaris has worked the belt problem into minimal failures. A belt drive system on a mountain set up is definitely an asset. One has to truly put in some seat time to realize that there are huge performance gains in between the QD and traditional Chain case setups.

Sick of the always shat talking cool guys who seem to always have to chirp in on every post, ok and ya maybe this costal snow is angering me a little. But gets tiring listening to the same guys spitting their wisdom on everything. It is a Polaris thread, hard to read the title for some I guess
it's even worse on snowest man, every thread on either the T3 or the Axys has turned into a mega pissing match. the poo guys rule over there tho, it's the polar opposite of here lol.

If they come with a 3" track, I will entertain a snow check. How much power is the current 800 putting out? I've heard its 160, but Guys are saying the HO is 160 so what is the truth?

HP don't mean jack, its fake number. Take torque x RPM and divide by 5252 = HP. More important to know how much torque and how long it stays elevated. You want it to climb to peak and then level off. Flat torque curve is most forgiving on CVT trannies and will make clutching more efficient. A sled with more torque that doesn't rev as high will be funner and easier to ride than one that is peaky and hard to keep in the powerband. Not talking smack about the new AXYS, heard its good, haven't seen the numbers or the dyno sheets from it yet, just talking in general terms. Lots of peeps get hung up on HP numbers, I'd rather ride something with 5 mythical "HP" less that doesn't fall off the pipe (or onto its face) anytime you back out of the throttle a little.

Torque and clutching are the reason Pro's are competitive with less HP. Polaris clutching is just way better. Why else wouldn't the 160 hp totally dominate easily over the 145 hp sled. Assuming they lie equally, :).

I think the belt drive being more efficient than a chain helps as well putting more power and torque to the track. I've always believed this is the best setup. Just wish they would move the brake disc down as having no brakes if you break that belt makes me nervous.

This is what bothers me about that set up as well. Especially since the older pros were prone to belt failures I'm amazed polaris hasnt changed it. Bad enough on a hill but I'd hate to be in a ditch headed towards a road crossing if it fails.

I'm sure the chance of it happening at the worst possible time would be very slim. But the fact the chance is there at all, and that there is a greater chance of having a belt failure as opposed to a chain failure it makes me think about it maybe being something I wouldn't want on my sled. Definitely one design I would change on them. Other than that I think they have a well built machine. My eyes will be on how the motor works out next year.

I'm with LBZ, like the QD right up till it fails. Last ride out had to tow a Pro out that had a broken bolt on bottom QD pulley. Apparently this has happened to others as well. Fortunately we had two other sleds so could have a tow and a tail sled. I've got two Pro's and am happy with them but hope the Axys gets this sorted out.

That's right. That's why the T3 has dominated in factory class hill cross/hill climb competitions.

Thats why nearly every single 'somebody' of the well known mountain riders are riding for Polaris.
A lot of those riders are somebodies because Polaris has payed them to become 'somebody'

And the T3 is a deep powder sled, I think everyone agrees with that. Hill climb races are not in "powder" by any means. Most of those guys cut lugs down and put screws in them and also widen the front ends which takes away two of the T3's most positive features

C3 belt drive on the Doo works very well and a noticeable difference. Polaris would have it nailed down tight if they moved the brake!!

Please don't take this the wrong way-

Just because a piece fails, doesn't necessarily mean it's the fault of the part. Most times, it has more to do with how the part has been treated or used, then how it performed.


I've also spent more time zip tying plastic together, then polishing the tunnel... I'm generally never suprised when something gets broke.

sooo....since the bickering is done does anyone have any details on the oil pump and new oiling system for the axys?.

ive been busy googling with no luck.

Is that on the short track version that's out this year or just the mountain one?
