2016 M8000 what size Dalton adjustables?

I am putting the 21/49 gearing in my 2016 M8000 Ltd 3” 162”, and also want to put in the Dalton adjustable weights. What is everyone’s experience with them and what size of base weight do you normally run? Was looking at the QA2-67’s, or the QA2-70’s(adjustable from 67g to 74.4g on the 67’s or 70g to 77.4 g on the 70’s) the sled is completely stock other than the gearing and would be running at 2500-6000 ft elevation most often.

I like Dalton weights. Quick and easy to adjust. Great quality product as well.

The Daltons are simple easy to adjust, the easiest,there is nothing easier, just like the CPC, . I have used many sets, but I find them very flat. They don't have a lot of weight in the heal, therefore I find that they have no snap, like the MDS.
I found a new 2011 M1000, last spring. Picked it up, double piping it and mods, mods, mods. I am waiting for the SSI/BlackDiamond Promag magnet weights, they are said to be aggressive, going to give them a try.

I got a 16 m8 LTD 153 Speedwerx stage 2 setup. This year i completed it with the Speedwerx clutch kit. Was at Lucille yesterday and gotta say the clutch kit is better than stock. 21/49 gears, 48 deg helix. Speedwerx springs, helix and weights. They supplied 66.5G weights that are able to add 2.1G to the very tips of them, although you have to remove the weight to adjust, 15mins job though. It has lighter weights and stiffer primary spring than stock. To my surprise it worked really really good from the trail bottom to above tree line in 1.5ft of fresh up top. I ran them with 1G added to the tip. Im going to try them with no weight added next trip out. Stck was 70G cat weights, early build model.
So im just wondering if the 67G will be light enough to start with? Its should be good but if you go up to 6 to 9000FT you might need lighter weights to pull proper RPM. If you can start a little lighter then a guy could add weight and get it more dialed in maybe?

Yes I know what you mean, don’t want too heavy of base weight up high, no room to adjust. However I think with 67g base weights I should be okay as I have 68g weights right now and was still pulling around 8300 rpm in the mountains last year. We very rarely ride above 8000 ft

I have been thinking about using dalton weights as well. But i ride at low elevation
Sea level to 3000 ft. My stock weights are Arctic cat team J14-74 gram. So I am wondering the same as the original poster on which base weight to start tuning with, either the 70-77.4 gram or 73-80.4 gram.
I think I would rather run the heavier weights empty or add a little weight in the tip.

Hoping for some feedback as well
